This work was part of the Slow Fashion Exhibition exhibited st RMIT Galley in dialogue with the international travelling exhibition, Fast Fashion: The dark side of fashion from July- September 2017. For this work I used laser cutting technology to transform a material usually used for bedding, memory foam, to create a high end garment, reflecting on potential strategies for reworking and re-purposing waste materials that up-cycles and increases the material value rather than down-cycling. During the exhibition the material changed and gained a patina in response to the exhibition lighting and the passing time.
