Jane Morley is a creative practitioner, teacher, facilitator, mentor and researcher who has lectured in fashion for over nine years. After working as a fashion designer for labels such as Easton Pearson, Jane lectured at the Queensland University of Technology for three years and completed a practice-based Masters exploring Conceptual art and Conceptual fashion design process. Jane then lectured at RMIT University for over four years, teaching in the Fashion Design Studio and Fashion Business courses. Jane works with diverse mediums, developing outcomes including garments, textiles, sculptures, drawings, 3D models, films, performances, photographs, and participatory experiences. She enjoys working with bodies and materials in dynamic, exploratory and interdisciplinary contexts. Jane is a new materialist and recently completed her practice-based PhD research project, Intra-active Fashion, that explores how designing with the performative relationships between materials, including human bodies, could enhance creativity, expression and connection.
